Bass Posture

1. Endpin Height: Adjust the height of the endpin so that when you stand next to your bass, the nut is approximately at the top of your head.

3. Positioning: Bring the top of the bass back towards you so that the instrument rests on your stomach. Notice that now the nut is about in line with my ear. The bass should still be turned to the right.

2. Positioning: Take a step backwards so that you are holding your bass an arms length away from you. The bass should be turned slightly to the right.

4. Add the Bow: You should be able to comfortably reach down to bow the instrument. Keep the arm relaxed and away from the body. The right arm is also away from the side of the body.
